Vertical Computer Systems, Inc. Merges With Scientific Fuel Technology, Inc. and Submits 8-K Tuesday, May 2, 2000


LOS ANGELES, May 2, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Vertical Computer Systems, Inc. (OTCBB:VCSYE) announced today that the Company has completed and submitted its 8-K electing successor issuer status pursuant to 12g-3 as a result of the merger with Scientific Fuel Technology, Inc., a 1934 Act fully reporting company.

Pursuant to the merger and under the provisions of Rule 12g-3 of the Exchange Act, Vertical Computer Systems, Inc. has assumed the reporting obligations of Scientific, by electing successor issuer status to Scientific, which causes Vertical Computer Systems, Inc., to become a fully reporting company.

Combined financial statements of Scientific and Vertical Computer Systems, Inc., have been attached to the Company's 8-K filing, as well as Vertical Computer Systems' audit for the period ending Dec. 31, 1999 completed by BDO Seidman.
